Up for discussion:
2011 Banquet. At Pullmans or Fin and Feather in Winneconne. Also which date Feb. 11th or Feb. 18th.
Justin should have the year end results for us to look over.
Nominations for driver of the year, rookie of the year, and worker of the year.
Check on Matt's progress securing door prizes for the banquet.
Decide on how to vote for president of the club.
Go over the ice rallycross procedure sheet and see if we want to make any changes.
Sounds like an important meeting. Wise I could go, still have class for another two weeks on Tuesdays.
Is there away to have the voting for the president take place on this forum? That way all the members of the club would have the oppertunity to vote.

You can make a post about the vote, but not everyone is on the forum. If you wish to have all members voting then you will have to go about it a different way. Mailer is the only way I can see it getting to all members. Any other ideas?

Well before we can vote on a president we need to know the nominations. I believe anyone can run for president or any position.

Or do they have to be a board member?

Hmmm president is a Pretty important position, I'd think ud need to be a current board member.

Meeting notes:
-Supradjza gets a minus for not attending.
-Banquet location still up in the air. Ken was going to check out Holidays.
-Timer upgrade will be handled by Dizmm.
-Stocking and baseball caps will be purchased for ice event trophies.
-The procedure to vote for president of the club is in need of clarification. At the next meeting proposals will be considered to change the by-laws in this regard. The proposals will then be included in the end of year mailer for the general membership to vote on.
-New club stickers will be handled by Tom.
-Club mailer will now be Tom's responsibility. FVSCC appologizes to all members who joined this year since a welcome to the club mailer was never sent out.
-Kyle will be bringing hot chocolate to the ice rallycross events.

Is there any reason why we can't simply hand people the mailers and stickers right when they join? When do most people rejoin? Just curious. I had asked about this a while ago, nothing was ever decided.
Don’t forget the marsh mellows for the hot chocolate.

Yes you can do that. Kind of lazy though if you ask me. It's a lot nicer to get a welcome to the club letter with a newsletter in it. More official.

I see two issues with this, one, not everyone reups right away at the beginning of the year so the ballot would have to be for the next year then, and two I would probably lose my ballot well before the start of the next year lol, its an interesting concept, but I see those as potential issues

This is only in reference to the mailer that we give out when someone joins... not the ballot for voting.

I enjoy getting things in the mail that are not bills and credit card apps!

If you got the mailer and sticker the day of it probably will just end up in the garbage. At least a mailer would be a seperate reminder of upcoming events and another thank you for joining.

Yea I agree with Tom And Brad, its nice to get it in the mail. Looks a little more professional / legitimate that way too.

How do you know when your membership anniversary is?
Hille

FVSCC memberships are good from when you join to Dec. 31st. It will still be valid for the 2011 banquet and voting until the banquet.
Event discounts at 2012 events will require renewal.

Thanks for clarifying I like the idea it follows kiss, keep it simple stupid, no need to risk losing someones address, getting thrown in junk mail, and I like putting the sticker on my car as soon as I can get it lol

The KISS method doesnt really count if you avoid doing things all together. That’s like saying we should keep things simple and not even put on ice events as it'd be easier.
The club needs to send out mailers, it needs to keep in contact with its members. Its really not much work to send out 2 mailers a year. If you keep organized and use a computer to enter in the memberships, it only takes about 4 clicks to print off mailing labels. Stuffing envelopes takes the most time, but 2 people doing it will take 15 minutes. I've done it several times by myself and only received one paper cut on my tongue. I now use the sticky ones.

Well, if it's that easy, then lets just get it done. Andy, you're gonna have to really show someone the in's and out's of that software.
Here's an idea.... why don't we just do the mailers at a monthly meeting? That way, everyone will be partaking in the fun and no one feels like they have to everything. You said it yourself... it only take 15-20 mins with 2 people.... so with 6 it should be done in no time.
