Our (FVSCC) schedule is simple.

As soon as the ice is safe we will run every weekend on Sundays. Possibly some Saturdays mixed in, but we'll announce that.

Ok, I was just making sure that it was still going to happen sometime this winter and was going to be local. Maybe I'll check out one of the events in hustisford. And I know I'm kind of a newbie here, but what does WAG stand for?

Looking forward to some fun out on the ice this winter!!! I'll come out to watch as I doubt my car is worth of the Ice right now. I think the windows would fog up and my allseasons would grip like crap out there so I am better off not even trying it.... :(

The Subaru or the BMW?

Teh Potsy

The BMW. I haven't been maintain it since I am going to pull the 5 spd out in the summer for my Silver IX that I have. Its in MUCH better condition... but is Automatic. My red one needs another head gasket, rear subframe bushings/trailing arm bushings, shifter linkages, and a new axle boot... and the blower fan died on it...hence the no heat. It does make heat at speeds above 55 mp though... ;) A lot of work to do with that one. I'd like to keep it for next seasons Auto-x though... we will see...

I'd love to race the subie, but its got blown head gaskets still. I haven't been able to get the car fixed yet, but its still out and about driving around. That fix is next in line.

yes....... I'm a bit angry with myself.

I'm going to Iowa tomorrow, so I'm having someone tear it down to look at it for me and possibly confirm my thoughts. I'll keep you updated in a seperate thread.

we be pumping out those subaru head gasket jobs! Getting very good at them.

Teh Potsy
12-29-2009, 08:19 AM
I don't know if that should be taken as a good thing....or a bad thing. All three of our subies have had or do have blown head gaskets.... Atleast we getting quick with it!

aww. dang, they took the action shot of my Volvo off of their front page. That gravity park event looks like it was a lot better than previous ones, wish I'd not have missed it!

What's WAG's ruling on VelcroTire™ or sharpened Bolted tires? It's not mentioned on their classing, or rules. And what would the difference be between class A3 and class D6?

CRX (Rattle) picture is still there. Hah.

I know WAG is against any studded tire other than Menards, but you do see other styles being used at WAG events.

I'll ask him.

Yikes. All WAG events at Lake Sinissippi are now $50.

Latest update from Dave at WAG:

no screws, bolts and nuts only- max. dia. 5mm, max. protrusion 6 mm, max. 175 studs per tire.

If your tires do not qualify you run in exhibition class with no trophy.

SgtRauksauff
12-30-2009, 12:27 PM
Ah, ok then. I was originally going to do screws, but changed my mind to go with bolts instead. More opportunity to go sideways, and a better chance to maintain tire pressure, since they're held on both sides of the rubber.

6mm is just a hair less than a quarter inch. (0.2362", specifically)

What the hell kind of bolt does he find that's less than 1/4"? 1/4" is 6.35mm. unless he's counting the shaft of the bolt, and not the threads...

Pre-register online is 10 bucks off, and if you did a previous WAG event in 2009/2010, you get another 10 bucks off. So 30 bucks, 40 if you haven't been to a WAG event this year. Dollar Lake is even more, though. I wonder why?

I wouldn't waste my time building a tire to WAG specs. With 6mm protrusion you will not be able to sharpen them. 175 max. per tire. Might as well just run Menard tires.

Wasn't that older guy the was at a couple of our event the head of WAG? if so he didn't seem like much fun to be around, i wouldn't waste the gas...
