Post 9/11 GI bill
Under this bill, Tuition is paid for by the feds, housing is equal to what an E-5 would get in the area (WI is $1300/mo) paid by the feds and state, new books are paid for dependent on classes, by the feds.
Ok, tuition has been paid, no problem there. Books have been paid for, no problem there.
The problem is the state paying us. It's not just me, it's all of the vets here in WI, god knows where else if the other states are trying to rape their vets.
Feds pay up every month. So far it ranges from $700 to $955 per month from myself and the guys I know using this bill currently. The state is suppose to pay every month too... The state hasn't. They told all of the vets that they will cut a "kicker" check in the middle of April and in the middle of June. As of today, they told us that the check was cut to tuition for "extra educational costs"...... hence, paying themselves, again, even though the feds already paid for the tuition.....
Myself, as well as 3 other Marines and 1 retired Colonel from the Army are trying to amass as many vets and current active duty who plan on using this bill, to get together in Madison in the near future for a protest.
Post in here or shoot me a PM if you are interested or have further information.
